Teen site, please review

Hey everyone. I've started a new teen site and i'm looking for some feedback/suggestions.

    The site is http://www.teenagespace.com/index.html

    It's two days old.

    Somethings I have planned are.

    Chatrooms
    Forums
    Games
    Jokes
    Music Section
    Shop

All but a few of these are going to be custom made. Speaking of custom, are there any real advantages over custom and pre-made scripts?

Thanks for taking time to read this.

    Marc

its a nice idea, im not really feeling the background in the center. the site has great colors. If more content was added to the first page the site would be great, but for a 2 day old site, its doing great.

Great concept, except for one thing the background. When you add more content to the front page its gonna be way too annoying to read with those orange and blue circles behind the text

Yeah, that was about the 4th background we tried. I'm not really feeling it all that much, either. I'll have to work on that, but thanks for the comments.

There is a slight difference if you take a look at the main page and the forums.

I changed the navigation to a CSS menu. Maybe you'll like the color arrangement better now?

I'm not sure what you mean you powered by someone. I guess to mean the company that makes the game, the only was would be is to remove it by editing the game but that wouldn't be legal.

As for the vister thing, it's settings in the script that are setup to do that.

    I have a few comments:

I think the background in the center should be changed to something more simple.
I think the font in the middle should be different and easier to read.
I think there should be more content in the middle.

Also, you should think about what you want to do with this site in the future. I always thought sites like these are impossible to take off without a huge budget. One thing you really need to take advantage of is word of mouth. Games will probably be your biggest attraction.

    Good luck

Okay we've made some changes. The homepage should be a little more easy to read now. We've also added more to it.

    http://www.teenagespace.com/

We fully changed the forum software to vBulletin so that's allowing us more to play with. We also have matching buttons the forum now.

The future of all my sites is something I keep in mind. For a teen site you really don't need a huge budget, a small budget works fine. It just takes some skills and good group of members to make it work :).

Yes, after a few hours of work, we finally got the site to look more uniform. We're still working on a few aspects, but we've made a LOT of progress.

Yeah, we're working on that. Those boxes are a bit pesky. We'll try a single table, that should even them out??
