A well-informed Democratic source in Massachusetts said the 76-year-old senator had "symptoms of a stroke" at the Kennedy family compound in Hyannis Port.

    Breaking news

Obama said that his "thoughts and prayers" are with Kennedy.

"We are going to try to find out as quickly as possible what is going on," Obama said, and added that he would call Kennedy's wife, Vicky.

"He is one of my favorite people," Obama said.

    Hoping for a quick recovery

Isn't Ted kennedy a murderer? I believe he rode a car off a bridge which fell into a river; he escaped but let his paasenger (a young woman) to drown. I sure hate that Obama guy. just look at how is trying to score political points because Kennedy is supposed to be popoular.

    Mary Jo Kopechne
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_Jo_Kopechne

Kennedy pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of an accident after causing injury. He received a two month suspended sentence and one year probation. Questions remain about his attempts to save Kopechne and the possibility of interference in the investigation and the trial by his family and friends. Kopechne's death severely damaged Kennedy's reputation and is regarded as a major reason that he was never able to mount a successful campaign for President of the United States.

He is doing fine now thankfully :)

"Preliminary tests have determined that he has not suffered a stroke and is not in any immediate danger. He's resting comfortably, and watching the Red Sox game with his family," said Dr. Larry Ronan, a physician at Massachusetts General Hospital. Ted Kennedy hospitalized after seizure

He appeared to have a seizure (or possibly multiple seizures). They will need to do a lot of testing to determine the root cause. It could be blood sugar, blood pressure, cardiac problem, mineral deficiency, alcohol abuse or a whole host of other reasons.
