Technorati taking a beating for it's site revamp

Go check out their customers reactions:

Total disaster. Apparently they don't do software testing or focus groups. Everyone's authority got slammed, missing posts, the profile update isn't working well, random interface changes, etc, etc.

Looks like they are also trying to move away from being a blog search engine, and into being a content producing site like about.com. "Write for Technorati" ads all over the place.

If they don't move fast to fix things, maybe one of you entrepreneurs can fill the void :)

Now that's funny .. the big internet giant, once again proves itself unworthy of the internet itself.

MSN/Bing not accepting new site submissions, Google webmaster tools deleting requested urls but a week later they show back up in the serps as 404's, all the while, Facebook and Myspace are hammered with worms and break-ins .. amazing.

And then, to top it all off, we're suppose to trust these guys with our info .. what a ruse.

It's exactly these kinds of things that convinces me that cloud computing will never truly fly.
Keeping your own data, on your own machine, will eventually be the order of the day.

Oh, and yes .. there are those of us that look for chances to jump in when stuff like this happens .. but blogs and social networking are seeing the beginning of the end .. no need to try and fix something whos days are numbered anyway.

The purest form of social networking is when you put on a website, that you built yourself, using your own editors, on your own machine, using a webhost of your choice. Then, if something goes wrong, you can easily load (reload) the website if need be .. it's all just as simple as that.
