technorati 'Claim Your Blog', is there a secret to it??

    Hi,

Does anybody know the secret of claiming a blog with Technorati?
Is there an automated way of doing it?

Because for the past 3 months I have been trying to claim my blog without much luck.

    I always get,
Their support is shocking, they never reply to tickets, they don't reply forum threads. Nothing.
So I am not really sure what to do. Is Technorati even worth it anymore?

I dutifully ping their system, and they alway return an 'ok' result.
    But nothing happens.

How can I claim my blog?

Did you provide your login details or what option are you using to claim your blog? What script or service are you using for your blog?

    Hi,

I provide them with my site and that's all they ask for.
    1. I login to technorati with my user name and password
    2. I go to edit my profile, (http://www.technorati.com/account/blogs/)
    3. I enter the path to my blog homepage, (http://www.journalhome.com/journalhome).
    4. it gives me an error there and then, (it is so quick I doubt it even goes to my site).

It says nothing about embeded code.

I am using http://www.journalhome.com/, it has RSS, tags and so on.

You have to prove the blog is yours. If I recall there was a file to upload to your server or code to embed in your page.

Great, I am happy to add anything they want.
    But what file?
    What embedded code?

    What do they want?

What I did was enter my admin username/password to confirm it was my blog. It asked me for this after I entered in my blogs domain name.

I recently claimed my blog www.blogtantra.com and i can help you in this matter.

They give you one simlple code, you have to publish that in your blog as you do daily with your articles. and just go on. you will be approved.

No, i guess you don't know how technorati works.
They don't use embedded code anymore.

They use XMLRPC, (API Discovery), or a 'secret' link in a post.

JournalHome offers both, XML RPC API and of course I can add a post.

So I guess that there is something else wrong on their side.

Either way, why can they not reply to my posts/emails/ticket. I would make any changes required.

As far as I know there are no issues.
You can add Javascript, but I don't see how that could help as they don't use embedded code anymore.

With what blog, my blog, http://www.journalhome.com/journalhome?
What message do you get? Do you get asked for your user id and password?

I guess it works for others, just not for me. Looking at their forum it does not work for many people and nobody seems to get a reply from them.

I had this same problem, but all I did was email technorati support.

Within 24 hours my blog was claimed!

    Give that a try....

Like I said, they never reply to my tickets.

I asked their forum, I sent a ticket, I sent a follow up reply to the ticket.

Nothing, not a word from them.

It would only take 2 minutes for them to tell me what the problem is but I don't think they care much.

Well you are lucky, 'cause I still haven't heard anything from them, (no forum reply or ticket reply).

I cannot do a 'quick claim' as I get an error right away.

    Nope, :(, still no luck.
