Technorati Aren't Listing My Tags - What Should I Do?

    Hi Folks

I'm having problems with Technorati not listing my posts under the Technorati Tags associated with each post.

I'm a registered member on Technorati, and I started by choosing 20 tags that represented my Blog...

That was all well and good - each post appeared under the 20 tags as soon as the post was submitted and pinged automatically.

However, these 20 general tags didn't represent each individual post well enough, so I decided to incorporate different tags with each and every post...

There lies the the problem. My blog post is only listed underneath the general blog tags, and not the post specific tags.

So - I figured that Technorati only allows 20 tags in total. I therefore reduced my general tags to 10, and made sure that I had a maximum of 10 additional Technorati tags associated with each post...

Still no satisfaction. The blog posts aren't listed in technorati underneath that tags in each blog post.

N.B. With each blog post I'm using exactly the right code that technorati tell me to use
    (i.e. <a href="http://technorati.com/tag/Tagword+Here" rel="tag">Tagword Here</a>)

Can anyone give me any suggestions on this one?

Try rel="category tag" and in your rss feeds put :

    <category>XXX</category>

Technorati is not only picky but has problems all the time. It could literally be anything. You can have 5000 tags if it were working correctly.

    Cheers

    Welcome to Technorati!

Seriously though, this problem, among others, is becoming more common with each new day. I'm not sure if Technorati is just getting too big for its britches or what, but it's getting ridiculous.

On one of my blogs I actually had to scrap the keywords plugins and just started using my categories as tags. After several e-mails to support they FINALLY started picking up my tags.

Now if I can just get them to listen to my pings... ;)

    Good luck!

Exactly, I tossed 22 domains testing the technorati ban triggers several months back. Ugh what a mess.

    Oh and they hate .infos

Yeah, it's getting out of hand no doubt. I wasn't aware of the .info issue though. Interesting...
