How about a Techical & Security-related forums? I think it would be a great idea. Discussion about new vulnerabilities, server hardening, etc.:)

Someone needs to add a security subforum. There are a lot of webmasters on this forum and some security awareness would be great :p

Do you have an example of some of the existing threads that should go there?

Well Im not going to go through all of dP cause there is a LOT lol and i've only been here for a few days..

but for example there is a thread right now about someone having thier web site hacked.. and getting thier pub-id changed..

another example would be the post in the general forums warning of an update in a script..

    consider this,

Possible things that can go into this forum:
    Information on ssl certificates
    Webmaster questions on website security
    Personal security
Virii adware etc how to get rid offs
Posts about the latest holes in popular scripts like phpBB etc that a lot of the people on here use..
Modifications in scripts to make them more secure
Overall discussion of security issues in websites

You could have it import rss feeds from the bigger security sites, keep everyone up to date on exploits so people patch theres

Well, I think thats a bad idea.. it would turn the subforum into a big junk pile of posts with few replies.

You need to realize there are 100's of vulnerabilities everyday, not all in web applications.

Btw, if anyone wants a free security check up for thier website, look at my blog (above) and check the page for Free Web Application Audit.

Wow, surprised to hear Bubba Shawn create such a forum.
Good idea and good job on Bubba Shawn's behalf. It is rather an interesting forum and should prove to benefit the webmasters of the community.

I'm glad this has been added - now I can try to secure my sites and server as best as possible (two weeks ago my dedicated server was compromised and the hacker started spamming thousands of people).

    :)
