Dear DP friends, I have a client who is looking for a technical proof-reader. My client writes basic 'technical' documents which need proof-reading, to ensure the technical content is correct. These documents need to be 100% correct, as they are to be published in a magazine to be distributed to subscribers. Topics can range anything from 'setting up a wireless network' to 'using Microsoft word 2007'. Its important to emphasise that, I am not interested in the grammar / spelling - but strictly with the 'technical content'. Initially, there will be approximately 200 pages which needs checking monthly. The rate of payment will be $.50 per page. Often the articles requires tests to be performed on various Windows platforms, I.e. Win 98/ME/2000/XP/Vista - for this reason, you must have or be able to get hold of a version. This is how it will work : When the articles are delivered to me, I will then forward these onto you. You will then check them, and return them to me. If you think you can fulfill this role properly then send me your details. Those who has not done any such technical proof reading in the past must not apply. Regards, Masud
What I have to do when the document is delievered? Do i have to rewrite, check the technical content.............? explain plz
I thaught I already explained it... Anyways I dont mind re-explaining it! You have to do the proof reading, as I have explained - you must be techy enough to understand the topic. We dont need someone who is good @ English and who can simply correct the spellings and grammer. We need a technical person who can correct our mistakes when it comes to technicalities. He should be able to rephrase the sentence. Hope this explains everything!
