I've just launched Technetly.com which is an online discussion forum for technology news, with a focus on technology startups, please tell me what you think of the concept/idea of the forum and I also hope you can join onboard to help me build it up. I've taken the rss feeds from the best blogs that I use and there's quite a few there. So it really takes away a lot of the hassle. http://www.technetly.com
vbulletin is good, I agree, but it's more the concept of the site, I find it useful for myself to stay updated on all the tech sites
I think the Main Forum can daunt new users. It has very little posts, the forums below have much more posts. But some users will never see them because they'll say "Ah, another forum with no posts" and they'll leave without scrolling.
thanks marcus, I agree with that I think I'll move the ones I know that will remain empty, move those lower and try to get some more posts into the general section. Or perhaps I should move that below the news section. Took your advice @ marcus and made the change as for the logo, I think that is minor, that won't put people off.
Thanks, yeah I see where people are going, vb is like a standard, a mistake on my part to use ipb, quite possibly. For me it has completed my first objective, to put all the posts in one place so I can read it conveniently for my own work purposes. The bonus would be people coming to discuss it and forming a community around it, that would be awesome.
