Hi everyone, I'm a tech-illiterate boomer always trying to learn more about 21st century technology. Coming from a childhood of dial phone party lines, I'm thrilled to see all the advances we have, though I'm on a tight budget so I don't have the most up-to-date gadgets around. I was an English major in college and I live on as a hard core bookworm. I worked my way through college as a pet-sitter and can't afford a pet of my own right now, but I speak Dog and Cat with a strong Human accent. I work in medical schools training students by performing the part of a patient in their training sessions and exams, and I do layout and editing work for a monthly Quaker publication, Friends Journal (I'm not a Quaker myself). I hope that online forums like this one survive the onslaught of Facebook. I posted under the General heading here about a Facebook battle I'm locked in right now. I have to belong to Facebook for work and I use it to stay in touch with long-distance family and friends, but the forums are a great alternative to Facebook and its tyrannies. Happy to be here!
