Teasers (intros) and seo

Lately I am trying to write without the intros on my page. That means that my articles don't have teasers anymore. I mean most of the great blog are writing like that.

SO I wonder if the rankings drop? What are your experiences. Because if you display the article on the home page and then again when you click on the article title - that is duplicate content.

I just changed that and seems like my rankings fell. Especially form my main keyword. I went from 3 that I was there for few months to 9 after I started writing without intros.

The cure for this is for example robots.txt where you put the home page articles on disallow for example. I've seen that on some blogs. But most of the blogs have their robots.txt file empty.

For example Google blogger Mat Cutts is doing that. His robots.txt is empty and he does not use intros for articles. Is Google able to differentiate this flaw and not mark it as a duplicate c?

I mean all great blogs are powered by wordpress, and wordpress comes without intros by nature "Read More Link", and it doesn't cont as duplicated content.
