    Any basketball fans here?

Did you get a chance to watch the scrimmage game on NBA TV a couple of days ago. Do you think Kobe will have a big impact on the team.

I think it's really going to help Kobe that he lost 19 pounds. While its important to be strong, it's even more important to be fast and quick.

He will no doubt be a factor. Kobe doesn't get enough credit for how deadly his outside shot is, too. In the NBA, the best defender smothers him. In international play, they like to throw zones at teams and they'll pay if they leave Kobe wide open from 20 feet.

    what your point then?

Kobe is the best 1 on 1 player, but no the best player. No one can stop him, but that doesn't mean his team is winning

I watched the end of the game... and yes, Kobe will certainly have an impact. I'm not a huge fan of Kobe, he had been fairly arrogant throughout his career. Regardless, he's a great basketball player and has drastically improved the last few years. If I had one person I needed to give the ball to for the final shot to win the game it would be him. Kevin Durant did suprisingly well too.

Agreed. I think Kobe was a little slow last year by his standards because of the added weight. He missed all of training camp because of the knee surgery ,so he gained some weight in the offseason. I think he was as high as 230 to begin the season.

Dropping the 19 points will increase his quickness and help him on the defensive end and getting to the basket a lot more ,and not relying so much on jump shots.

Yea Kobe is looking a lot trimmer since the end of last season.

He weighed in at 200 pounds for Team USA minicamp. His lowest weight since 1998.
