TBPR Update Prediction possible pattern

I've seen a similar pattern the last two toolbar updates. I was wondering if anyone has seen similar patterns form the Google bots.
My site gets crawled everyday by Google, I tend to see about 30 visits a day from them. The last 2 updates I've seen on 2 visits 48hours before the update started.
So for the update on July 14th, on 2 visits for Google bot on the 12th.
The April 22nd update, I only saw 2 Google bots on the 20th.

I was wondering if anyone else who gets a daily crawl can see any similar pattern or am I seeing a strange coincidence.

 

The visual PR from the 7/14/05 update came 3-4 weeks prior. So the actual PR was from around 6/20 or so.

 

Ahhh... isn't superstitious learning fascinating?

 

My cat told me that the update was no longer linked to the moon phase but to Pluto position which triggers google bots few days (Pluoto's days) before an update.

This is not superstition... she is not a black cat

Just to say that Google will update whenever it wants too.

 

last toolbar update of PR was july 22, so three months later will be oct 22, just my guess

As it turns out, you are correct: October 22 is three months later than July 22.

 

It's nice to see the pretty green line for sites but at the moment, worrying about when a TBPR update happens is far from my mind. If they go and tank on me as well it would be a fitting end to the week

Well that just throws my theory out the window.

 

I predict the pattern of Matt Cutts saying there is going to be a PR update in the next few days as being the best predictor of a PR Update.

 

saw lighter than usual crawl this morning, not the regular spider of whole site right after mid-night. If my stupid pattern holds true, we will see it on Friday. I hope I'm wrong and we see updates today.

 

So they update the PR.. I will be happy if I get better rankings from the update. Don't really care about PR right now.

 

Precisely. The Toolbar PR update is merely cosmetic.

 

For me it really does not matter since I'm stuck in the sandbox. What I'm praying for is to maybe be released after the update, but it's looking more and more like that will not happen.
