Just wondering, what's the deal with taxes when it comes to selling/buying websites. Does the government where you live have any claim to the money you make from selling/buying websites, even if the process is done without a social security card, tax form, or anything? What does everyone here do when it concerns this matter.
If I'm informed right the german government only want'S you to pay tax if you earn more then 400€ a month and don't have registered a business. I don't know how much you are allowed to make with a business registered
I think most of the people here don't pay tax on their website earnings because it's very easy to avoid it, you can keep your money in diffrent ways such as PayPal balance and so on. Or just invest back into your website which lowers the profits.
If you are registered on a domain brokering network, they'll require you to fill out a W-9 tax form is you make over $500/month. If you do everything yourself without a network and don't have a registered business name, you might be able to get away with just selling domains for all profit. But I never tried it, so I really can't tell you what the risk is in that.
it would have to depend on the jurisdiction you are living in if it is incorporated it would be subject to capital gains tax if it is over a certain amount if it is just run as a sole proprietorship it would be deemed income. But again check with an accountant where you live.
