Tax Time - Need Clickbank's Tax ID number

Discussion in 'ClickBank' started by christobin15, Jan 14, 2010.

So I am about to file my taxes, but I have no received a 1099 from Clickbank. Turbotax requires me to fill in the Tax ID number of the person that is paying me ie Clickbank. I know some of you have received 1099 forms from Clickbank in the past. Does anyone know what Clickbank's TaxID/EID number is?

    Thanks

So make one up or use someone elses.

You don't file that information with the Government so it doesn't matter.

1099's are NOT sent by Clickbank. It's the individual merchants responsibility ONLY if the amount they send exceeds $600.

I am required to file that information with the IRS as my income has exceeded the $600 limit. 1099's are supposed to be sent out to individuals that do not operate as a business with a EIN. My income came in under my social so Clickbank should be sending out a 1099. The only think I need is Clickbanks EIN, because the IRS needs to know what company is paying me.

If Clickback is required to send you one they have until Jan 31, 2010 to mail it.

Just relax and realize that rapid refunds are not for business owners (you).

The IRS already knows what company is paying you.

The 1099 being discussed here is a 1099-Misc and every business within the United States that pays another entity (individual, Sole Proprietorship, partnership, corp, LLC, etc.) within the United States is required by law to send a 1099 to that entity (you) by Jan 31st and they also have to file a 1099 with the IRS using your TIN (Taxpayer Identification Number) which will be either a social or EIN depending on your business structure.
Since Clickbank is located in the United States and they make payments to both affiliates and publishers (payees) they are required by law to send/file 1099s to both the payee (you) and the IRS using your TIN.
Don't worry about Clickbank's EIN, you don't need it. I also get paid by entities outside of the United States and they are not required to send 1099s therefore they don’t but I still have to report the income even though I don’t have a 1099 from them.

Everybody that’s getting paid by MarketBay has to report that income too even though MarketBay is an offshore company (outside the limits of the US) and isn't required to send/file a 1099. The payments reflect on your bank statements and if you ever get audited by the IRS they're going to see it anyway so why risk it.

Did you ever find out the answer to your question? I have not received a 1099 yet from Clickbank either and made over $600. All I need to efile my tax return is Clickbank's EIN number (as they are requiring that)
Please let me know what it is

    Tks

Wait, I'm confused. I've made over $600 but I have not gotten a 1099 mailed to me yet ... it's Feb 5th, shouldn't it be here by now?

Same here. I still haven't received anything. I've made some money as an affiliate but also as a merchant. The total sum of paychecks in my account for this year includes both forms of money earned, and yet nothing to show for it in terms of records. What the hell are you supposed to do?? its not like I can make up my own form, so I can't even get started.

I think that the total sum is the most important thing as far as records go.
