Okay so at what point does a person need to start paying taxes on what they earn doing affiliate marketing?

I guess if I have to pay taxes on my earnings I should be able to write off my PPC costs, etc?

I believe you have to claim if you've reached $650 this year...

This should be under legal issues I guess.

But to answer your question, all income is to be reported and taxes are to be paid on the net icome (income after expenses. You will frequently see here and other places some BS about $600. The $600 threshold is the point at which a payor must send you a 1099 at the end of the year.

You safest bet is to report all income. You will not be required to pay social security taxes unless you non-farm NET earnings are over $400.

Edit: Sorry Dave, no slam intended. We cross-posted.

It depends upon the country you reside. So get an appointment with tax consultant.
