When you are an individual your TIN (taxpayer identification number) is your social security number.

Google will not withhold taxes from your check, but they are required to report your income to the IRS if it is more than $600. (Some companies will report even if the amount is less than $600.)

I wouldn't recommend using a fake number. You could get yourself in a whole bunch of trouble.

As I remember I went to the social secuity office to apply for a tax id number.

I see Kat beat me to the answer. Like Kat said, using fake info is bound to get you into hot water down the line.

I believe due to privacy issues your TIN is no longer your social security number.

If you are working in the states without paying taxes is illegal, even though you are not from here. Actually you may go to jail and get deported for doing such thing..:p
