I'd taken Tax Help Site down during a server move and never put it back up. I bought the domain because I knew it would be easy to rank in MSN and Yahoo and it did. I can give the content to the new owner (already did a tar.gz.zip backup) if they want, but it's honestly mostly regurgitated IRS.gov information and some promo content. Would make a great regional directory or whatever your imagination desires. Site/Domain Information: Registered through: GoDaddy.com, Inc. The traffic and revenue was mostly seasonal honestly because of the content that was on the site. It was taken down in June; unfortunately I deleted the log files as well, but the that visitors were mostly from MSN and Yahoo where it ranked #1 for 'tax help site'; 'tax assistance help' and similar terms. Income during US tax season (about Dec to Apr) was decent, but nothing that would pay the mortgage ~ about 50 per month during the season and only a few bucks a month otherwise. The site is being sold more for it's domain, PR and potential though, and not so much for traffic and revenue. Hope that helps some; if not, let me know.
how are we supposed to bid, without knowing the content or stats or rev? If you can show content somewhere, it would be great?
Bid noted; thanks. The site was taken down to move it to a new server, and I got wrapped up in other projects ... I honestly just hadn't put it back up but that's an easy fix. I was leery about putting it back up so the pages would get "deindexed" and allow a new owner to get a fresh start; but that's what custom 404s are good for so I'll put the pages back up. This may have been better, wiser to do as a domain sale. I had briefly addressed that above, but not well enough apparently; sorry jim. When I deleted the site off the server, I also deleted the log files. However going back to look at the AdSense channels and somewhat guaging off the impressions and from memory the site was getting about 120 uniques a day, but again, that was during "the season" with some huge spikes at times and plenty of lulls other times. Again ... The site has a huge leg up for the propensity to rank because its domain alone. When you could buy your way to the top of the MSN sponsored results, I had some good offers on this domain and site because I was getting #1 organic results and others were paying $50K and up to be the top sponsor; as hindsight is always 20/20 no doubt I should've taken one of the better ones. Anyway .... personally I think this would make for a great niche, regional directory / yellow pages type site that could sell listings to CPA, preparers, etc. but I am cleaning my plate per se to better focus on a few projects. EDIT - site content is back - I've not done a verity of it, but it's there nonetheless. ALSO - FYI - I never made a single sale from the Amazon/Barnes&Noble links - not the best use of space
I am going to lower the BIN by $75 to $425 which will allow for someone to purchase a fully unbranded version of phpLD if they so choose. Current bid is 150, the reserve amount remains the same.
Noted ssteve; thanks. FYI: This auction will close tomorrow afternoon as stated in the initial post of the thread - three days from post. However, if the reserve is not met or exceeded, it will not be sold merely to the highest bidder.
Auction closed / cancelled with no bid meeting the necessary criteria for a selling price. It'll be a directory soon
i will offer 170 $ wha say....man .....if interested then contact me 170 $ and ya i m flexible......ok thx contact me
ronniee - this closed without a sale because the bids did not meet or exceed the minimum reserve price of $250; I am unable to entertain your offer, but thanks.
I got another < $200 bid via a PM - STOP The auction is closed. If you're serious about the site, then PM me how to pay BIN only Otherwise, I'll capitalize on being the top out of 132,000,000 results ... http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=tax+help+site
