Take a page and try to optimize it for a single key word. The key word may be loooong, medium or short depending on the niche and its popularity;)

A proper keyword should describe overall information about your web page

ranking high in google isn't easy

you need incoming links with the right anchor text for your keyword, some say you need variations, some say you should use just your keyword

you need your keyword in the content, but it doesn't have to look spammy...generally good content is what you need (and if it can't be good content you get a picture of how it should be)

    keyword rich URLs help

    links from related sites help

don't bother targeting a shot keyword (1-2 terms), there are literally thousands of guys out there competing for that same keyword...

you can actually do all of them if you are that determined with ranking all of them...choosing the best among all your chosen keywords will be determined on its performance. if the keyword that you choose which has a low number of searches ranks well in SERP or a very competitive keyword with lots of searches and can drive lots of traffic or a moderate one that excels normally in both aspects are suiting your satisfaction, then its a job well done...

I have seen many brand news domains targeting for a specific keyword and reaching in top 10 of google . if they are so new how come they manage to get the incoming links. ??

Content is not a problem ,i can get someone else write me a real quality content .
what i wanted to ask is " If my content is better than anyone else content out there and i place it on my brand new domain which gets index 2 days back.. then where will my page lie ?

top 100 or top 20 ?? will it straightaway get on top ? is time also a factor ?
