Hey there,, Well.. what i can understand from my feeble knowledge of seo regarding getting an article get high SERPS is this: :Keyword density should be good :it should have incoming links. :not just incoming links. The anchor text should be keyword targetted. ther basic seo stuff like h1 tags etc Now my question is regarding the anchor text. :now.. first of all.. does it have to be a do-follow and how much impact does that have : where are the best ways to do that? -->signatures in related forums with anchor text? -->sig in no related forums with anchor text? -->directory submissions with anchor text..? -->blog comments with/without anchor text? -->article submissions with anchor text? -->Press Release with anchor text now, can someone throw some light on the issue.. im just looking for a detailed response that kind of tells how to get a high rank for particular keywords? also.. wat are the keywords you should b aiming at ones that get few thousand searches or ones that get over 100,000 searches thanks
If you have a new site - you go with as easy keyword as possible, probably 3 word one.. later target shorter 2 word and one word ultimately!
Guest blog posts on related blogs is the best thing to do (good writing skills required). Otherwise article submissions to the top article directories will bring you traffic for sure.
The difficulty level of keywords you go after depends on your confidence as an seo and the authority of your site. A new seo likely wouldn't be able to rank well for any competitive search term. So you would have to go after less competitive keywords. A seasoned seo expert would know what techniques to use to eventually rank for those keywords. They would also know to be patient while targeting those keywords. Ultimately you want to get lots of quality backlinks with your keyword as your anchor text. A link without anchor text gives a very small boost for the domain. A link with the keyword as anchor text will give a bigger boost for that particular keyword.
