Hey all, Is is wise to target specific locations with a keyword, such as for ex. " California i pods" say if one were to attract attention, could you branch off to another state targeting same subject? and of course with variations, this would be alot of work im assuming
Hi targeting specific regions is good way to benefit from local search results, which Search engines are giving a lot of preference too at the moment. At times local search results are listed above the generic search results, by you targeting specific areas, your increasing your chances to be displayed in Local Search results, and three's a good possibility to also rank higher then some of your major competitors. Also try adding your business to Local Directories and also Google Places, and Bing Local Business.
Location specific targeting targeting is a good thing to do if done correctly. You can also waste a lot of time and effort if done incorrectly. Analyze your traffic stats to find the area that are most interested in your product. You can then find more localized venues to promote your product with greater targeting.
Sure Geo targeting promotion is always a good way and to get your targeted visitors, where you business is running, and you want your exposure there only. For that being to be geo based is a good decision.
Local targeted traffic converts well if you are offering any local CPA offer. I'm getting good sales from one of my CPA campaign by promoting offer through classified sites...
target specific location keywords helps to get local visitors & traffic for your site. If you want traffic from worldwide then promote your site with generic keywords & then submit it to the search engine & directories. it will help you to drive more traffic from worldwide...
Don't forget that targetting by specifying a particular area if done correctly can be extremely profitable, eg: dentist van nuys california.
I gues it depends on why you would want to get geo targeted traffic. Because it's easier...I don't know. I have a site that ranks for a keyword that I wasn't even trying for...page #1, so you never know. i'd try it and then monitor where the traffic comes from.
