hi, im developing a site that is in spanish, but its going to target us. visitors that speak spanish. what link method is appropiate for this scenario?

1.-getting links from same topic, english, us sites. (will them give me link juice? or to pass link juice the websites must be on the same language?)
2.-getting links from same topic, spanish, us sites. (i guess there are not a lot)

i have already moved the site to an U.S server, and geotargeted the site via google webmasters. im i missing something?
