Targeting keyword which is different from SEOed keyword

    Hi

I have a site which is seo optimized for a certain keyword phrase.

The problem is that this phrase brings back only about 1 - 3 cents a click. I get about 90 clicks a day, and I feel like I am wasting my potential.

I have found a keyword phrase which pays better in adsense and is VERY similar to mine, but isn't mine exactly. How can I keep my page optimized for my last phrase (so that I do not go down in search engine rankings), but change my adsense ads so that it shows ads for the new phrase?

    Thanks

    Zach

There might be an easier way, but for one of my sites I started inserting keywords into the text and bolding them. Took about a day, but I was happy with the results. Maybe it was a fluke, but it sure worked.

Why don't you write an article or create another page that focuses on that keyword and link it somewhere prominently on the homepage. If you start to bold the other keyword, you may become less relevant for your main keyword. Putting the keyword you're focusing on in the title, h, bold, italic tags will put the theme of the page on that keyword.
