I'm a newbie to promoting my website, and I have seen alot of website promoting compaines saying that they can get you X-amount of unique visitors for X-amount $$$, by either some form of pop-up advertising or re-directs ( Which I still am not 100% sure on how re-directs work ), now I feel like alot of these companies are basicly scamy, but has any body tried any of these compaines, and which ones work or better yet, which ones are legit and getting you real visitors to your site?? I was thinking about MegaWebPromotion, guaranteed 1000 visitors, I quess they seem promising to me . but I'm also hoping they are legit?? I feel that my site can generate people to sign up to what I'm offering with ease, its just getting people to see my website . Yeah, I'm a total Newbie on everything computer, website, and website marketing related, LOL. Thanks for any Imput
I personally would stay away from any form of "guaranteed traffic". A lot of the traffic may be shown in popups which tend to annoy people and I've even heard cases of your site being displayed in a 1x1 invisible iframe so although your hosting stats will show a visitor nobody actually saw your page. You also need to consider how targetted those visitors will be - and in the majority of cases they more than likely won't be. Since you already have an advertising budget available to you it might be worth looking into some PPC advertising instead. Another approach you could take is submitting articles to the article directories with a link back to your site in the author bio box.
Tried them before Awful results You may as well set fire to your money. At least you'll be entertained for a while. Stick to legitimate traffic sources like MSN Adcenter, YSM, and Adwords. Or do promotion yourself: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=567366 http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=546822
Simply Put: NEVER buy traffic from a website like this. It is *garbage* traffic. If it was worth anything they'd be using it themselves.
I agree with others who have said not to buy this type of traffic. Targeted traffic means visitors that are interested in your particular content or topic. The only real way to get that kinf of traffic is from the search engines and from backlinks on relevant websites.
Stay away from any popup or popunder companies. The traffic you get is rarely targeted and most users just close the window within a few seconds.
you may get a lot of traffic but they won't be targeted, nor will they be buyers, sometimes you have to work a little harder to get quality traffic. Warmly Colleen
Add your website address in your signature like I did. Also, if you want targeted ads go to AdBrite.com and buy the cheapest and most relevant websites to advertise on.
Thanks everyone, I kind of thought that these companies offering targeted visitors would be tough or not ligit, but was hoping for atleast one good one , I feel what my website has to offer is not going to be hard to convernt because of how unique, of whats being offered, its just getting my website to be seen. Going to give Adbrite a try, I do plan to put my site in my sig, just have to wait until after I make the 10 post and 7 days , really can't wait to share my website with you guys and girls .
As a newbie in marketing you want to avoid any paid advertising for now. Just concentrate on producing quality unique content which is keyword-rich and your site will be indexed by search engines after some time. There are ways of getting targeted traffic absolutely free although if you still insist on paying then there are a few traffic merchants out there that are legit. You may PM me for details if you are interested but I would start with the free methods. For example, have you considered adding your site's link to Facebook? (assuming you've signed up). If you join a network of 100 members who are in turn members of other networks of 100 members each that may easily translate to your site receiving over 10,000 page views per day!! Genius!
You know how they make their money bud ? By newbies thinking its real traffic and sending them 50-100$ expecting to receive targeted visitors that convert their affiliate offer .... I guarantee you no one comes back for repeat business with these companies ... If it sounds to good to be true ... it is ... lots of people think that the above method will get their foot in the door in the intertnet marketing world ... you've been warned, smart move on your part to come here and post man ... the above posts saved you at least 50$
I have often been tempted to try these things, but they never made sense. If it actually worked wouldn't they make more as affiliates? Thanks for the info.
And thats why I'm happy to have found this site!! , for newbies like myself, there seems to be so many diferent companies out there that offere unique ways of promoting your site, its nice to be able to talk to people who know what works and what doesn't work, Thanks again All.
