Target Index, or specific pages?

    I was wondering when you work on seo, do you target and focus your attention to bringing traffic to your main page or do you target specific pages/articles, or both because I've only been optimizing for bring an audience to my main page rather then my articles?

    i target as many key pages as possible, home page is always important, but you may have "better inner" pages with the content that people are looking for, so it's vital to work on all those pages too ... :)

    well i also promote/target some of inner page/s, but of course mostly the main page... which is serve as the face/door of a site... its necessary, to have more visitors... as alternative..
