Tarball on Windows?

    Can I zip a Tarball, .tar.gz on Windows--is there any applications to do so because it is a great compression method.

    You will find a good collection of GNU utilities ported to Windows here:

    http://unxutils.sourceforge.net/

    It includes gzip and tar. They are pretty old, but still functional. For more current versions and even more *nix functionality, you should check out cygwin
