I've been out with ladies both taller & shorter than me in the past & never had an issue with it . My brother's currently engaged to a lady significantly taller than him so could make for unusual wedding photos .

The taller a guy is the better, imo (although I was engaged to a guy much shorter than me years back, and it wasn't a huge issue I suppose). I'm 6', and prefer dates who are at least 6'2" - makes me feel a bit more "normal," and I don't have to worry about what type of shoes I feel like wearing when I'm out with them. Then again, my height's probably one of the reasons I pretty much live in flip-flops year round - they add very little height.

Tall girls are not my type, we don't look good together.

Agreed, I'm 6"4 at 16, so sort of afraid as to how tall I'll be, but tall girls aren't "right" for me so to speak.

Hmm... I am 5'6". I don't think I have ever dated anyone shorter than me. I would say ideal would be a guy between 5'8" and 6'0".... But I wouldn't rule out anyone based on height alone. Other factors are much more important than height.

    I totally agree.

Being 6'6" short ass women give you neck pains when you have to bend down so far to snog them, it's very annoying! I'd love to find a partner 6' plus, preferably a brunette.

    28 plus please! :D

You know... I know quite a few tall men like you over in the UK. Apparently I'm on the wrong continent.

Some guys love it. You'd be surprised though at how it's often the tallest guys who only want the short chicks. That's what I've never understood (and of course the short guys want us tall chicks - go figure).

There are actually logical reasons for being self-conscious though. Personally, I love being tall (couldn't imagine being any other way). But the looks you get from people when you're with a shorter guy are just absurd. It doesn't bother me when I'm alone, or with a guy in a casual kind of situation, but take something formal (where I might be like 6'2" - 6'3" in heels), and people look at you like you're some freak of nature. If anything, I think I'm more confident than I would otherwise be b/c of my height. But what I was saying.... many tall women go through one or two huge growth spurts when they're pretty young. When that happens (like it did with me), you're kind of awkward at the young age, b/c you suddenly have these long legs to maneuver (read: you're a clumsy ass for a little while). Depending on how young, the self-consciousness can also be because you're suddenly unlike all of your peers. For example, in junior high, I wasn't just the tallest girl - I was the tallest student in my grade for a little while. It makes you feel out of place. I only felt "normal" when this really tall guy moved into the district. I felt like a little bit less of an oddball at that point, and within a year or two a lot of the guys were finally taller than me, some of the girls got a bit closer, and the awkwardness on a day-to-day basis was gone. It's much different being this tall near 30 than when you're 16 or so.
