Hello everyone, I have a social/dating website and I would like to expand it. However, I find it troubling to decided where to market my website. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you! EDIT: I would like to note that my goal is to deliver traffic to my website, not make any sales; it's completely free.
I would suggest using articles, forums, search engine and google adword to promote it. Then when traffic comes, word to mouth should take over allowing you a viral affect of traffic to your website.
Those methods seem to be cheap. I am not worried about advertising costs. Also, isn't adwords only good for selling your services/products and not to gain traffic?
AdSense sends traffic (and doesn't necessarily convert it into sales). And like ablaye suggested, MySpace is bursting at the seams with your target audience.
They may be inexpensive methods of advertising but their also very affective ways to get targeted traffic to your website. As far as google adword it’s just a fast source of traffic well the other ways take a little time to generate the traffic. Good luck
I see, but I wonder, which would be best to advertise on to get the most traffic, google or other services such as fastclick, burstmedia, etc.
If your looking for traffic, check out adbrite.com in the adult section, and offer something for new signups, a competition maybe..? Other than that, find a decent keyword you can target on SE's and go for it, build links. WIll be worth it in the long run, but short term, go for quick and easy traffic.
Well it isn't much of a "dating" website. It's more of a social network for people to get together. Kind of like myspace but with different features.
I would suggest forming a partnership with an established complimentary website that would bring in traffic. I don't mean purchase an ad spot, but rather, find a site that could naturally extend into yours and email them. You may have some trouble finding quality partners though unless you are able to offer something unique...rather than just another dating/social network.
