Is it just a normal part of human relations to lie to one another, or about one another? I actually think that most people would actually prefer to be lied to, if it makes them feel better, even if they know the person is lying. Such as "oh yeah, we'll give you that promotion eventually"
It's natural, and it's something you have to deal with in life... I think just about everyone has had to deal with this.
