The embossed text header is too obsolete, you've changed that with the new design and put a logo ( a race flag, wheel or anything related with nascar ) or make the header text as a logo.
I don't like the car background it's like a toys and not shown a race. Better change it with 1 pics shown several cars on race, retouch the pic with photoshop effect to show how fast the cars are

Why don't you have posts in the middle area when the page loads? Maybe have the last 5 listed.

 

The logo looks kind of odd, with the picture part only going part way across the top.

 

Your red color text makes your site look like May Day Parade
on Red Square in Moscow
