You hardcore right-wingers wanna get upset about socialism.. how about how we are using our foreign policy? Why does every other country around the world get a fraction of our military while our own gets none? why do we have our military on borders of countries around the world when our own has absolutely zero? why is it that some of you think we should be involved in every country's business around the world and try to 'fix them' while we are broken ourselves? we blindly give away our government budget to other nations while furthering our debt to China, why is that? and why haven't you passionate neocons woken up to this yet?
Points to article --> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socialism I get your point, but I don't think we need soliders on our borders, thats a little extreme, who will mow my lawn then?!
I think what you are refering to is called Pax Americana like Pax Romana. It's not socialism. We keep our legions on the borders of the americanized world to bring peace and prosperity. So it's really just a cost of doing business.
and if they're not on their border, we'll force'em there if necessary (you got me, that wasn't socialism - good call)
No it is not socialism (argueably) but still a good point. The U.S. government should be enforcing the constitution within our borders not enforcing "Americanism" globally. There is nothing in our constitution that states anything about using tax payers money to spread our "business" all over the globe. Your point stands Nate.
I agree... We should be doing everything to keep our country safe... But at what point did we we lose sight of that, and wind up being the world police?
I'd like to see the US out of the middle east and let the savages kill each other. Unfortunately, the same people that are complaining about the Iraq war are the people that got us in this mess. These guys like John Edwards and Al Gore have a fleet of suv's and houses that are bigger than a mall. Back in the 70's the Vietnam protest hippies switched over to 'no nukes' and the US hasn't built any nuclear power plants since 1974. The U.S. now uses fossil fuels to produce 70 percent of its electricity. Now these same idiots have moved to the suburbs. In most suburbs it's impossible to get around without a car. There's no sidewalks and public mass transit is non-existant. These people sit around all day complaining about Bush and sipping bottled water. The shipping of bottled water use large amounts of fossil fuels and making bottles to meet Americans’ demand for bottled water requires more than 1.5 million barrels of oil annually. Then 86 percent of plastic water bottles used in the United States become garbage or litter and uses more fossil fuel to haul away. If you are tired of war learn to conserve.
