Taking the Plunge!

I'm going to have my very 1st adwords ad go live Monday. I have my keyword, my affiliate landing page, my daily budget. From what I know, that's all I need to know, and will run it for 2 weeks to see how things go. Is there anything else I need or need to know? I don't want to over analyze, so I hope to learn as I go.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

Learning from other people's mistakes is far less painful than learning from your own!

I've written a sort of manual, which you may find interesting:

    http://www.epiphanysolutions.co.uk/google-adwords/

I would offer a couple of pieces of advice...

    1) Assuming that you're a business, you should be trying to maximise profit. Cost per click, Conversion Rate, Clickthrough Rate, ROI and everything else are just guides to this - they should never be your ultimate objective.

    2) If you are getting conversions, then you can make money on Adwords. You just have to work out what a click is worth to you, and never bid more than that.

    3) Don't worry about what your competitors are doing. In my experience, at least 50% of all people advertising on Adwords don't know what they are doing. And I'm not too sure about the other 50%...
