Hello everyone. I wanted to ask a question about taking #1 on google on a specific keyword..it has 300,000 global monthly searches. I checked out my competitors and I saw the guy ranking for #1 only had 420 backlinks..NONE of the backlinks even had a PR..most of them were from youtube, fb and ####.webs.com his website contained forums and tools. So what I'm asking is..if I create a high quality site (probably forums) and got some backlinks with good PR ranks could I easily take #1? It looks to easy.
Google backlinks will not show you all the backlinks... Please check his backlinks on yahoo explorer and you'll get much better idea of what he had done to reach at #1.
420 backlinks on google my god!!!!! means more than 100 on yahoo for sure!!! very much competition, you need to work really very hard to compete
It totaly depends upon your site theme. But the process which you defined is the only way to improve your rankings.
Yes, Google is not showing all backs you can find all back links from Yahoo search, then follow those links you.
yeah! i think it is very important for you to create a qualified a site. if it is allowed , you can aplly a forum to show off sth .after promoting lots of things and products ,you will take#1!
420 backlinks for one keyword and all count by Google is enough to be on top. Its mean that those keywords have worth in eye of Google. First follow them, its my advice when you start following it, you never get them because many of them are from sponsor links. Also check domain age of you competitor, don't try to hard to get stick in sandbox.
Different tools show you different count of backlinks. and they are never exact. and if you have checked backlinks in Google, it doesn't consider all the backlinks. A site which is positioning on no.1 for a most competitive keyword will surely have good number of quality back links. To beat your competitor, you need to get quality links through quality sources.
