I was reading some articles today and figured I would get some peoples opinions on this. As Image searching is growing through new technology with mobile phones many think that QR Codes are a thing of the past and the Mobile Visual Search is much more effective and safer to use thus making it the thing of the future. Just wanted to hear some other people points about this mobile development marketing that businesses will be using.
Hi- there have been many articles about 'print to mobile' using QR, MVS, AR, NFC recently. There are obviously advantages and disadvantages to both, but it seems like the market is shifting towards MVS/AR more. LTU technologies is a pioneer of image recognition. We provide mobile visual search to brands, advertisers, and developers in all kinds of projects. Definitely check out our website to learn more about this technology and contact us if you have any questions!
Its amazing how long QR Codes have been around for and how few people actually know what they are. The down side with QR's is that there are several stages you have to go through to use it. 1. U need a scanner installed on your device 2. You have to unlock or open device and activate scanner.3. Now scan code. With NCF you just place device and it will activate. NCF signs are more expensive and not as easy to produce as QR codes. Also Apple devices do not have a NCF scanner built in, only Android devices. I think a combination of both QR and NCF is a great option with promotional material.
