Media Temple seems great - thanks for the tip!

Forget Mambo, could you please give a summary of Joomla vs Alfresco?

Joomla and Alfresco are open source CMS.

Joomla has a vibrant community and there is currently one template that incorporates adsense into it. I am using the template over at http://www.linguagymnastics.com/lexicon and although i cannot leave my day job like so many here yet, "some money is still better than no money" to quote Eric Giguere.

As for Alfresco, this looks neat in that it supports JSR-168, which from my limited knowledge is a big deal. With the co-founder of Documentum and former COO of Business Objects at the helm, its a really professional package. But perhaps, the best thing about this deal is that its free.

Thanks for the info! I like your site. Cannot leave your day job, eh? That's what made page generators so tempting to me in the past - the promise of boatloads of money :D - it's gonna be an uphill task for me as getting income from WH sites isn't as straightforward.

    very much more stable.

not having to worry about living from hand to mouth,
any extra income, even that few dollars is considered a bonus.

though we are allowed to dream....
Would really want to earn those amount of money thru decent content though.

    Trouble is ,
I need traffic to visit me. That i don't know how.

If you are using Joomla, You might like to check this out http://joomla.medspan.info, Pretty cool adsense modules for Joomla, and there is a mambot for autoplacing ads into content, and and another mambot that enables you to use javascript in content so you can place that big rectangles into the content whereever you want, and also make custom modules for it.

Umm... 90 clicks and 0 earnings? In the AdSense portal?

I would e-mail and ask them as politely as I could manage.

Ah Will, thanks for bringing' me back to the old days of BASIC!

dlcmh, i've had good luck hiring content writers off of craigslist.org. They are good writers, but don't always know how valueable what they are submitting is, and you can get them fairly cheap.

if you want to get a few backlinks quick, try an article submission service like the one offered through isnare.com. don't count on it for major traffic, but every little thing helps.

be careful jumping into PPC advertising, especially if you've never done it before. There are 'tricks' with ads just as there are 'tricks' with AdSense. If you must get into it, I suggest starting out at something like goClick.com first to learn the ropes.

As for hosting, I can help you with that as well. just PM me :)

Lastly, think about applying at YPN so that all your income is not from one stream. Start branching out slowly and watch the dolla's rise!

I'm using ICDsoft, both sites in my signature are hosted by them, each on different IP which is good for linking. There may be other less expensive or better plans but this company has a very strict policy about spam, hacking, warez and so on. High speed, fast servers .. not so many sites shared on each server. Other good hosting companies from what I have heared, Site5 ( http://www.site5.com )

ICDsoft's site is http://www.icdsoft.com or , if you wish to use my refferal link, go to http://www.helpedia.com and click on the banner on the left.

Use the CO-OP advertising network and good directories such as the ones in this list : http://info.vilesilencer.com/main.php?rock=seo-friendly.php

    DigitalPoint's CO-OP network is available here : http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/ad-network/

or here : http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/ad-network/?s=30868 (refferal link)

Haven't used Joomla, I've heared it's good. Stay away from Frontpage as not all hosting plans include Frontpage support. For both of my site's I've written a custom CMS, from scratch.

I'm active on RentACoder.com (RAC), there are a lot of good people that write articles. Usually all people ranked in top 500 are trustworthy. LisaG is especially good but her prices may be a bit higher than the rest. You get what you pay for.

I don't need your 2 dollars, if you feel this is helpfull enough donate the money to DP ( http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/donate.html )
