I'm working on a template for an informational site. Looks good. Nice clean and professional! Maybe main a hover effect on the navigation bar, or a drop down menu if you site is larger. At the bottom of the index page you could consider to have one half with information from the about us page to personalise the site more. Also maybe make another column to display latest updates or news, so return visitors can easily view updates when they revisit your site.
It looks pretty good to me, if it was me I would add a sidebar because it adds more navigation, information, etc to the main page, but that's just me.

thats a very nice template, i really like the logo and the text. i dont know why but theres just something about that navigation bar that doesnt sit right with me. the submit button should match.
