    Hey all... concerning meta tags:

"KW": It seems more and more highly ranked companies have fewer and fewer keywords listed in their meta tags... can someone tell me if this is just random and varies, if there is some standard where any keyword after the first 5 listed is basically ignored, or should I list all that I can? The thing is I am selling many different types of products, and many different terms are used even for the major categories so I find it hard to eliminate a lot.

"Description (& Title)": First, should these 2 be the same? Also, I know the title length should be so that when it comes up on Google all the important info should not be cut off... but what about being keyword rich and the purpose, or should I just concentrate on the fact that this should be something thats useful and informative for the visitor/searcher only and not worry about SEO?

    Thanks!

I use "tags" still with a "tag" cloud.
But it seems that search engines are using on page word density more and more. My reasoning for the "tag" cloud is because it ads more of my key words to the page.

Google no longer considers Meta Keywords when ranking your site. Whether you have none, five, or fifty, it won't change anything with Google.

Page title is quite impactful for SEO. Make sure your title has your primary keyword phrase in it and that (ideally) your primary keyword phrase appears first in the title.

Description is not considered by Google in terms of SERP. It can be used for the snippet in the search results though (rather than Google taking an excerpt from your page content). This becomes useful in increasing CTR from searchers, writing a good description that will grab their attention and make them want to click through to your site. Remember to include your keyword phrase(s) in the description as Google will bold words in the displayed snippet that were in the searcher's query.

Title is more important but at the same time the content is also very important.

Title and content is one of the most important part of the web page but at the same time all these tags can't be ignored especially while it is a blog. All those tag are considered to be an important part of optimization process.

@JmasterJ first of all google started ignoring met keywords away long back.., no issues with it if you have or not.
2nd one is., title is what describes about your website in short by using keywords and description is what your website contains in a brief.. both are considered by google.., title go for 1 or 2 keywords,, in description go for 2 keywords..,
