I am just wondering how sites are adding "tags" at the end of their posts and having those tags linked to their respective part of their website. Is it done automatically somehow or do they manually insert each one? here is an example of a good site that does it well: http://www.easywordpress.com/labs/104/rsstoblog-auto-blogging-software/ thanks all, Travis
The Tags you are talking about are Wordpress categories. Wordpress in a free (open source) blogging software. In Wordpress you can assign a post to one or more categores. you can see the categories in the right margin of the site you referenced. I think it is a good idea and ties into Latent Symantic Indexing. The more you can describe things the more the engines can help searchers find what they're looking for.
what did you mean by: "of the site you referenced" I thought we were just talking about your blog site.... Edit: I have just put my posts into categories but I did not see a way of adding these "tags" like so many blogs have...
of the site you referenced is referring to the URl posted in phaze3131's post. It is a blog about wordpress. And it is also hosted at easywordpress using the blogging software itself (wordpress) so yes can be confusing.
oh I see I see, sorry for my confusion. So maybe I should ask the wordpress people about adding tags, as I have already put some posts into categories and don't see how to add the tag code to my template so that they are below each post. thank you
I am no expert by try to put <?php the_category(',') ?> in your index.php file of the theme you're using
This is not WP categories, but tags that you see at the bottom of the post linked by phaze3131. You can put it on your blog with Ultimate Tag Warrior, the best "tag plugin" so far
thank you guys! I'm going to install the plug in now and see how it works So I guess this does the tags on the sidebar also, that I see so many blogs have. The tags that are like in different size fonts and some are bold.. and stuff like that. Well time to get to work Travis
