Tactics For Selling Domain Names At Ebay...?

I've seen some domain names on ebay which are priced incredibly high. The highest ones are priced at US$21,000,000. Some of them have the option of making a nearest offer.

Is this just a way of getting exposure for the domain name? In that if you give it a stupidly high price then it is shot to the top of the list of the most expensive & so is one of the first that people see.

Is this a legitimate way of getting an offer for a domain name?

No offense, but absolutely legitimate, I think.
You can view listings as You like, using the drop down menu above the Sort column:
    - Best Match
    - Time: Ending Soonest
    - Time: Newly Listed
    - Price: Highest First
    - Distance: Nearest First

If You ask to have the list with highest price first, You get exactly what You ask for.
To ask a high price is good to be seen first in the list if asked for.
And, never know, maybe somebody pays half of the asking price of $21,000,000.00.
    Good for many people.
    Success!

Yeah, Its pretty much just used for more exposure. I wouldn't call it "legitimate", who knows, maybe it can even be flagged.

Thanks for all your opinions, so far it's not done much for me. The listings have had more views than the days the listings last for which I guess is okay. One of the domains had an offer, though it wasn't worth taking.

Before I had them listed with a fixed price & had nothing in the way of views or interest. So what I can say is that this has at the least gotten more attention.

i think one of the tactics to sell domains on ebay is to write a good title and of course having a good picture.
because the search engine on ebay searches what people type in the search box
you've got to make sure you add the word "domain" in your title of the ad.
some people just go onto ebay and search domain, they do not into the categories.
and since there are many domain ads on ebay, a good picture would work.
the classic image would be to have your domain name on a single color background.
    it has worked for me.

As I don't have the required three likes to be brokering deals in the sales section, am I about to be breaking rules & getting my account banned before I get the three likes?
