Tabbed Widgets And SEO

    My site was hammered with duplicate content penalties and it took forever to clear. I figured out it was due to my sidebar.

    Since removing a lot of stuff from the sidebar, my google traffic went up but page views went down.

    I would like to add a tabbed widget to my sidebar like what you see under the button ads at http://www.crunchgear.com/2009/09/21/netgear-jumps-into-the-consumer-friendly-nas-arena-with-stora/

    Would this be search engine friendly, something the search engines can't see?

    Also, what is a good wordpress plugin for this.

    I have just seen "Section Widget" Wordpress Plugin. May be that would be useful to you.

    If you add a 3 tabbed widget to your site, one for recent posts, another for categories and the third for say popular posts, will Google see all this content in your sidebar or can they not read the content of these widgets?
