Tabbed Firefox browsing?

It seems that when I hit a link with a _blank tag Firefox opens another window, I would like to see them in another tab instead. I browsed through the very few configuration options and I just can't manage to make it work, anyone have any idea of how can I do this?

 

i always use CTRL + T for a new tab.

 

huh? I mean I want to open those links in a new tab when I click on them

 

Hold the CTRL key down while you click on the link.
For me, that opens the URL in another tab, instead of another window.

I was just wondering if it couldn't be done automatically just as Opera does

 

Would this extension do what you're looking for? Not sure how or if it works though.
