I am creating a site which allows users to upload there own music that they have created etc to there personal profile!!
But i need some T&C's,rules etc made up to help protect the site from being sued. We are wanting the person who creates the profile to take full legal responibilty for anything they upload, is this legal?
I am willing to pay for this but it needs to be 100% personally written, not copied from a similar site!
The site is aimed for new UK artitsts/bands to upload there music and get some attention! a similar site can be found HERE

Also i was advised to look into offshore hosting, because i may be more protected? is this true?

    Thanks in advance!
    Will

The forum here probably isn't the best place to hire an attorney. However, if you want to go that route, you have to at least indicate what country and/or state you and your business are located in.

Nonny is right , some info about your location could help, and yes please get a off shore host plus make sure the files are not directly hotlinked to server , get another off shore server and hot link files to that.

iam no legal expert , but i do have some experiance in this feild. ;)

oks edit you are in u.k, go for .lu hosting

There is a company does exactly this: http://www.website-contracts.co.uk/ . They also offer free legal forms for web sites http://www.freenetlaw.com/.

Regarding the offshore hosting: I don't know. Why would you do that. You just post your terms of service and if a user violates them you disable their account. As far as I know there is no risk for you involved. But I am not a lawyer. So, while you get your forms written, you might ask the lawyer this question as well.
