Syndication of Articles

Ok, I would like to get my articles syndicated by webmasters on Ezine articles as it's really effortless SEO work. Thanks to Alexa for bringing that up.

I already receive a few hops daily from one article I wrote that has been published, no sales though, but the product has a crappy landing page.

So, could you give me your ideas on what makes an article syndication worthy?

    Lenght?
    Subjects?

Are there any other methods to increase awareness of your articles?

I dont think there are any secrets, or specific niches, there are webmasters in all niches who will take your articles if they like them - just a well written article which is actually informative and useful in itself rather than badly written spam to get backlinks..

It really dose not take so much time to publish your articles by yourself on other article directories and blogs. Besides, the more article directories you publish, the wider exposure you will be giving to your work and maybe you will get even more people to find your work and publish it.

One article is never enough to start expecting sales. Get to work an do more!!

I do about 10 articles a day, but I admit most of them are short 250 word intro pieces designed only to get a click. I have begun writing 500+ word articles now and actually do some research before writing. We will see how it pans out.

My recommendation is to focus on quality over quantity. Are the 10 articles a day that you're writing focused on keywords that get traffic? Is the competition acceptable or is it too high?

Not saying you're one of these people but I think a lot of people just start throwing articles out there and don't even do thorough research before they start. I'd rather have 20 articles on the first page of Google for decent search terms than 200 articles scattered everywhere for words that possibly get no traffic or have too much competition for me to ever rank.

If you want people to use your article you are going to need to have a high quality article that gives better information or just as good information as the next best syndicated article. Most likely that wont happen so you have to syndicate the article yourself as best as possible. Submit the article to other article directories, preferably just the best ones like

    articlebase.com
    buzzle.com
    goarticles.com
    articlealley.com
    articledashboard.com
    ideamarketers.com
    amazines.com
    searchwarp.com
    articlecity.com

These are some of the better ones to submit to, but with a high quality article submitted to all these directories you'll be sure your article has a higher chance of getting picked up by webmasters.

To give your article better exposure be sure to also post it at web 2.0 sites and blogging sites like

    hubpages.com
    squidoo.com
    blogspot.com
    wordpress.com
    vox.com
    livejournal.com

There's a way bigger list than this, but you get the idea (use google to find other places).

Just post your article to the best places. This is just a real simple basic layout, but it should increase your traffic. Don't rely on your article getting syndicated, make the best out of that one article you got. It also helps if you can spin it a little bit.

I don't do enough keyword research, I admit it.

I'd really like to get some simple outlines for this. I know how to use Google Keywords but that's it. I basically get a huge list of related keywords and merge them in an excel sheet, then start writing from the top.

Get something like SEO Quake add-on for Firefox and use it to analyze all of the results on the first page for your chosen keyword. Also, do a search for the keyword in quotes and try to stick to ones with competing pages under 50,000 at first. I know that the competing pages under 50,000 is very vague and a lot of other factors come into play but its usually a good starting point.

go to http://bummarketingmethod.com and download the free e-course. It will give you a really good base to start with.
