Switching to VB from phpbb 1.5 plus

Well i had enough of phpbb, its a long story however.

So anyway, my question is: What do you need (hacks etc) in order to have all my pages indexed/SEO. Are there any site map mods for VB out there. Part of the reason why i was using phpbb is because it was so easy to get indexed.

So do i need any extras when i install an out of the box VB?

    Thanks! :D

You don't need to hack it (not even a session removal hack) or install anything and it's perfectly spiderable.

I would suggest making a few minor template adjustments (like remove the forum name from the <title> tag of every page), but that's more for ranking than spidering.

I would personally recommend the vBSEO Google/Yahoo Sitemap Generator which creates a automated sitemap of your content into a Google-friendly format and regually pings Google informing them of your Sitemap location. This can be useful to help build up a base of indexed pages for Google to work from. Of course this file generated can also be submitted into Yahoo! likewise for the same reason.

If you are new to the business of SEOing a forum, then i would also recommend www.vbseo.com for your forums. Which provides a comprehensive all in one solution for your forums. Rewriting URLs making them search engine friendly.

It depends on what page you are trying to change specifically (if you search your templates for "<title>", you can find any template with a title in it).
