    Hey All,
I'm looking at switching from a MySQL 3x. server to a MySQL 4x server with our hosting co. Does anyone know if this might for any reason adversely impact our hard fought SEO gains?

    NO
at least in no negative way under normal conditions
in October I changed server AND country - no adverse effect on SERPS except substantially more traffic due to new geo-location of server bypassing apparently many filters imposed on US-content by certain countries.

hence if you stay in the same country - then there should be no adverse effect at all on serps - as to traffic changes, that would depend if and what filters might affect your previous server location vs your new one.

    Thanks Hans,
I couldn't see any reason why it would, but hate to find out the hard way.

If you don't make any problems to your website during the update, like website down, it will not affect your SEO.

There should not be any problem if you successfully move your database so that content and the urls still match.
