Switching Host

I am switching host for one of my websites. I recently have put in a lot of content and back links to different pages within the last week so I am expecting crawl anytime.

Ultimately switching host is going to give me some down time of up to 24-48 hours.

What do you suggest I do? I do not want to Google to crawl me and find no website present.

    Thank you

    Don't really need downtime.

Have all the content on the second server, and then put the DNS change in. No downtime involved.

I would agree. I can get sites moved in a matter of a few hours to almost instantly by setting up everything with the new host. Then changing the redirect from the Domain Registrar last. I have moved a lot of sites.

This is why it is so important that you seperate your domain registrations from your hosting.
