I started a guitar blog just over a month ago and i decided that i am going to switch to wordpress. But will having the same posts on the wordpress blog hurt it's SEo b/c it will be duplicating all the posts on the blogger blog?? If so, is there any way to get around this? thanks
The switch to wordpress isn't a big deal. I assume your site is as a subdomain of blogger. You will end up getting a better pr in a couple months in just pulling the articles over to your new, main site. I have seen it done once successfully in the past. What she did was pull the articles to her new doman name, delete them on the old account, and post a link saying the content has moved to hersite.com. She got a better page rank than her old domain during the pr update.
You should close the Blogger after you send the posts to WP else you may incur dup content penalty. WP will give you better SEO due to the availability of hundreds of optimization plug ins. Aside that, you can host it on your own server and make a lot of changes to fit your SEO. Blogger allows to host under your own domain but you still dont have control over the files and templates.
