Switched Server IP's - server being displayed switching back and forth..

I recently changed servers, and switched the ip's of the nameserver domain to the new server, however I'm experiencing a strange issue.

About 12 hours after the IP switch, my iPhone's 3g network started connecting to the new server when visiting any of my websites involved in the switch.

When on my Wifi network, it's been intermittently switching back and forth between the new and old server every 4-12 hours.

I'm sure this is something that eventually gets worked out (assuming I didn't configure something wrong?), but I'm just curious... Why would my computer be switching back and forth between servers?

Also... Is there a way I can stop this from happening? I have a bunch of work that needs to be done to a website before monday and this is making it extremely hard to get anything done =/

It has to do with the ISP as far as I know. Just be patient and as long as you have the new server IP in place it should fix itself. When I change my name servers sometimes I'll see it on the new server then in a few hours on the old server and then it'll switch back again....annoying but stay with it, should fix itself.

    Hello there,

Make sure your DNS health is good, as some ISP's will not re-cache DNS information if it has an error in it. Check your site here:

Yep, most of the times when I have DNS propagation issues, I resort to intodns and if any issues occur I go right to my DNS Zones and correct them; Most common issues? A Records of name servers IPs are from the old server and then intodns instantaneously updates.
