Switched data centers

    Hi i just recently switched to a new data center with new ip etc... how long do you think it will take before everyone can access my sites again? (because doing a ping on the site still points to the old ip)

    Should be 48 hours max, but you should try the ping from one of the online services because the IP may be cached by your ISP.

    After changing the nameservers or A record, it takes 24-48 hours to propagate the changes.

    To immediately see your site...alter your hosts file.

    You can do that now...restart your browser or flush the DNS and you will at least be able to make sure you have properly setup the site. In a couple days alter the hosts file back and you are good to go.
