Hi, i was wondering what would happen to my rankings and backlinks if i wanted to make changes to my site? im using a builder at the moment but soon ill know enough to make the site myself and make it better etc. so i would want to keep the domain name but change everything else. what factors should i consider when i do this?

Im worried about losing my backlinks or something? and would search engines recognise it as the same site?

Believe it or not, the only upgrade worth making, at least for now and in this climate, is to Wordpress. There is zero point to creating your own website. It takes too much time.

There are templates and page templates (for free) for wordpress that allow you to design individual page content that makes it look like you built the page from scratch.

    Google loves wordpress....

Just make sure that URLs and Content on your pages do not change while changing your site's platform.
