    Anyone had experience switching domains to a domain/URL that is already pointing to your site (i.e. pointing to your current URL)?

    Point of concern: marketing wants to switch domains. SEO concerned about the site getting hurt in the SERPS for a year.

    The domain being switched to has indexed by Google and others for over 10 months.

    oh man... tough one ... confounded marketing people. they're gonna market the site right off the serps.

    look into the google sandbox ... if your domain is established ... it's becomg GOLD. new domain may take a long time before it gets to where you are now.
